Fear and loathing during the dissertation – an addition to the Guinnessbook of PhD

Who has shown the highest dedication to his research? A candidat for such a claim might be the famous philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre.

In 1935 he was writing a dissertation on imagination. For this purpose he had a doctor inject him the drug mescaline. The result was a drug psychosis which forced him to spend two weeks in psychiatry. That’s what I’d call scientific curiosity!

    auch derartige kuriose “Forscher” gefunden hat (rhetorische Frage)?
    Wozu dann die Liedtexte? Zur Verlautbarung ihrer Forschungsergebnisse?
